The Wavecrest Award Nominations

Here they are.

These are the films and performers who have demonstrated an edge over this years competition and we have nominated for Wavecrest Awards.

First of all, we must salute this years Triple Threat Film Maker.  We take great pride in watching every film submitted for excellence in several aspects of film making that include acting, writing and directing and sometimes everything else that goes into making a film.  While several films met the qualifications for this award only one pushed the envelope so far that it could not be overlooked.

This year we are happy to present the Wavecrest Award for Best Triple Threat Film Maker to Luke Matheny for his short film God Of Love.

Congratulations, Luke, on this achievement and on your Academy Award for Best Live Action Short Film.  We are proud to add you to our roster.

Nominees.

159 films were submitted to this year’s competition.

We are screening 54 of them.  Upon the heels of his Oscar win and notification of the Triple Threat Award, Luke Matheny humbly and graciously withdrew from further competition this year, leaving our judges with even tougher decisions to make about this years official selections.

Here are the 2011 Wavecrest Award contenders.

Congratulations to all nominees!
